I had the pleasure of visiting the Museum of the Oriental Institute of Chicago last spring. and it was really nice. They don't seen tohave a very big Egyptian display when you first walk in, but every case is crammed full of artifacts from a pre-dynastic burial to a 27-foot tall statue of King Tutankhamun. It is very cool. Among my favorite items at this museum was a piece of plaster flooring from the palace at Akhetaten (Amarna. It was beautifully painted. and I was surprised at how well the colors were preserved.
The museum is a host to many amazing artifacts, so if you're ever in Chicago, don't forget to visit! It's free!
